Cancún, Quintana Roo — A new MOBI public transit route connecting Villas del Mar 3 with the Nichupté Bridge will begin operating on Monday, November 2, officials announced. The service is expected to serve more than 86,000 people across 128 neighborhoods in Cancún, and riders will travel free from November 2 through November 9 to mark the launch.
The route takes in key Cancún roads and landmarks, including Kabah Avenue, shopping centers, schools, Kabah Park and the Tecnológico de Cancún. Officials said it will expand travel options for residents moving between residential areas, schools and commercial districts.
A central feature of the route is its crossing of the Nichupté Bridge, which links the city to the hotel zone and extends the service as far as Playa Delfines, one of Cancún’s best-known tourist spots.
The route will run seven days a week, from 4 a.m. to 2:15 a.m., covering travel through most of the day and night, including shift changes for work and school.
The free first week is intended to let riders learn the route without paying a fare. Officials said the service will cover the 128 neighborhoods within its catchment area, though they have not yet released how often buses will run or what the fare will be once the free period ends.
