Cancun — After a video spread virally on social media exposing the emergency that occurred inside CBTIS 111 “Leona Vicario” in Cancun, the school’s administration finally broke its silence to address the poisoning of three students, a case that has already been referred to the State Attorney General’s Office.

The official statement was issued one day after the events and only under intense media pressure from the student community and internet users.

In the document, the educational institution acknowledged that staff detected the three students experiencing physical discomfort in the bathroom area after they had ingested gummies that altered their state of health, requiring an emergency transfer to an IMSS clinic by ambulance.

While the school maintains that it acted in accordance with emergency protocols and reports that the minors are out of danger, the State Attorney General’s Office took action and formally opened investigation file 1327/2026 for the crime of corruption of minors.

The investigations by ministerial authorities seek to clarify who introduced and supplied the products containing illicit substances to the students inside the school facilities.
