Cancun, Quintana Roo — The city’s popular Paseo Cancunense will debut a nighttime edition on Saturday, June 13, at Malecón Tajamar, Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announced.
The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., following the traditional route along Avenida Bonampak and Malecón Tajamar in downtown Cancun. Officials said the shift to evening hours aims to offer cooler temperatures and foster community gathering.
“For the first time, Paseo Cancunense will take place on a Saturday and at night, so we can all enjoy a safe, fun space full of activities for all ages,” Peralta said.
Free services include bicycle rentals, designated areas for walking, running or skating, local artistic performances, ambient music, and family-friendly recreational activities.
The program originally launched as a Sunday daytime initiative to promote physical activity on main roads. It has since become a regular community meeting point. The new Saturday night format responds to public requests to diversify recreational use of urban infrastructure and strengthen social ties in Cancun.
