Cancún — The Cancún International Airport (AIC) recorded 341 air operations, combining arrivals and departures, this Wednesday, reflecting the onset of the low season. This is a significant decrease from its post-pandemic peak days when it approached 700 operations.
The scheduled flights included 171 arrivals, of which 80 were domestic and 91 were international. Regarding departures, there were 170, with 80 domestic and 90 international flights.
For domestic flights, Cancún maintained connections with more than 15 cities, including Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puebla, Querétaro, Tijuana, Tuxtla, and Villahermosa.
International flights connected to destinations in North America, Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean, such as Atlanta, Bogotá, Brussels, Istanbul, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington.
Airlines that operated included Aeroméxico, Air Canada, American Airlines, Avianca, British Airways, Copa, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Latam, Southwest, Spirit, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, Viva Aerobús, and Volaris, among others.
On Father’s Day in June, a total of 1,539 operations were registered at the Cancún International Airport. The high volume reflected the importance of that celebration for the tourism sector, with a notable increase in national and international flights connecting Quintana Roo with key destinations around the world.
On Friday, June 13, 485 operations were recorded, with 243 arrivals (89 domestic and 154 international) and 242 departures (88 domestic and 154 international). The following day, Saturday, June 14, activity reached a peak of 549 operations, including 275 arrivals (86 domestic and 189 international) and 274 departures (83 domestic and 191 international).
