Baker murdered in Playa del Carmen settlement

Crime scene in the In House irregular settlement in Playa del Carmen where a baker was found dead

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A young man identified as Delmar Jehovany B. T. was found dead with visible signs of violence on a dirt road in the irregular settlement known as In House in Playa del Carmen.

According to neighbors, the victim—aged just over 25—was known in the area for working as a baker.

The discovery occurred around 10:30 a.m. when residents of the settlement detected the body lying on the dirt road of Xochimilco Bahía Street, near a church. Upon realizing the individual showed no vital signs, they notified the authorities.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots during the early morning hours, though they initially thought they were fireworks or firecrackers and therefore did not report it immediately.

Municipal Police officers arrived at the site, confirmed the death, and proceeded to cordon off the area after observing the body showed evident signs of violence, activating the chain of custody.

Subsequently, personnel from the Investigation Police and experts from the State Attorney General’s Office carried out the corresponding procedures and removed the body.

The victim was later identified as Delmar Jehovany B. T.; however, due to the circumstances in which he was found, authorities are keeping the investigation open to clarify the facts.
