Cancún, Quintana Roo — Authorities seized 180 doses of suspected marijuana abandoned on a Cancún beach during a coordinated security operation.
Police officers discovered three plastic-wrapped packages on the shoreline near a hotel in the Puerto Morelos area while conducting patrols as part of Operation Blindaje Cancún. The operation involves coordination between Cancún police, the State Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the Mexican Navy.
During their inspection, officers opened the packages and found one containing 30 small bags and the other two containing 75 bags each, totaling 180 packages of a green paste-like substance with characteristics similar to marijuana.
Authorities secured the evidence following protocol and transferred it to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking, where it remains available to prosecutors for further investigation.
No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery. Officials continue investigating how the drugs arrived at that coastal location.
