Armed Robbery at Tulum’s Holistika Hotel Triggers Police Search

Tulum, Quintana Roo — An armed robbery at the Holistika Hotel in Tulum’s La Veleta neighborhood Monday afternoon prompted a large-scale police search for the suspects.

Authorities received a report around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Avenida 10 Sur and Calle 2 Sur. Police officers arrived at the scene, confirmed the incident, and activated security protocols.

Emergency medical services were also dispatched, but officials have not reported any injuries.

Officers cordoned off the area to preserve evidence. Investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office began collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances of the robbery.

During the investigation, officers from multiple agencies conducted patrols in the streets and access points near La Veleta, searching for the suspects. The operation included checking possible escape routes.

As of Monday evening, authorities had not disclosed the amount stolen or the number of suspects involved. It remains unclear whether the perpetrators took money, valuables, or belongings from guests or staff.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials are expected to release more details in the coming hours. The incident has drawn attention from residents and visitors in one of Tulum’s busiest tourist and residential areas.
