CANCÚN, Quintana Roo — A child approximately three years of age was wounded by two gunshot wounds during an armed attack at a party in Supermanzana 235 in Cancún.
According to preliminary information, armed individuals opened fire on a man and an elderly woman who were at the location, also wounding the child. The minor was transported emergently by a neighbor on a motorcycle to the General Hospital "Jesús Kumate Rodríguez," where he was admitted to receive medical attention.
Personnel from the GEAVIG, the State Investigative Police, and the Secretariat of Public Security arrived at the hospital, where they were briefed on the facts. Further details regarding the health status of the child or the other attacked individuals have not been released at this time. The information remains preliminary.
After several minutes of waiting, paramedics transported an elderly woman and a man to the hospital for proper medical attention.
It is worth mentioning that during the victims' admission to the hospital, the Secretary of Public Security, Raciel López Salazar, was seen arriving to be briefed on the case, due to a minor being implicated in the attack.
