The Association of Traders of Electrical Material and Equipment (Acomee) in Quintana Roo is working to ensure that their members carry a unique seal of safety. This seal will verify that their products are not pirated or potentially hazardous, such as items that could cause electrical fires.
The local representative, Noé Poblano, stated that the organization is committed to providing assurance for people across the country. They plan to oversee companies in Cancun that do not adhere to electrical standards. This will enable the creation of a warning list to prevent the consumption of unsafe products.
The electrical market encompasses a broad range of products, from remote control systems for home devices to electronic products, automation, monitoring and control systems, and more. Acomee aims to emphasize the importance of young professionals understanding the diverse opportunities available in this rapidly growing sector, as well as the equipment and services required by the construction industry.
Poblano noted that, unfortunately, necessary components are often not installed or used correctly, making ongoing professional training essential. "When you graduate from university, you often find that the reality of the market is very different from the theory you've learned," he said.
Acomee is dedicated to supporting young professionals and engineers by providing practical experience and market knowledge to aid their development. The goal is to familiarize them with the brands available in the market and equip them with the necessary training to be better prepared.
Although Acomee has been operating in Mexico City for over 50 years, it is relatively new to Cancun. However, the organization is determined to establish a strong presence in this popular tourist destination.
