Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A pickup truck was found abandoned within the beach zone during the early hours of Thursday, at the height of CTM Avenue and the maritime area, an incident that generated the immediate mobilization of municipal authorities and transit corporations due to a situation considered irregular and of possible risk.
The report was channeled through the emergency number 911, which activated the presence of Transit officers at the indicated site.
Upon arrival, the officers confirmed that the unit was stranded just meters from the shoreline, in an area where the circulation and parking of motor vehicles is prohibited.
At the location, the driver, owner, or any person who could be held responsible for the vehicle was not located.
Due to the total absence of people related to the pickup truck, the agents proceeded to conduct a visual inspection to rule out immediate risks and verify that there were no injured persons or indications of any criminal act.
After confirming there were no occupants or visible damage to third parties, it was determined to request the support of a specialized tow truck for the removal of the unit.
The towing maneuvers extended for several minutes, as the weight of the vehicle and the sand conditions complicated the work, requiring careful efforts to avoid greater impacts to the coastal area.
Once secured, the pickup truck was removed from the location and transported to an impound lot, where it was made available to the corresponding authority.
So far, authorities have not reported on the causes that led to the vehicle ending up within the beach zone, nor has it been confirmed whether the incident resulted from a mechanical failure, an accident, or some intentional action.
