Cancun, Quintana Roo — A domestic dispute in Cancun’s region 251 nearly turned deadly early Thursday morning after a woman allegedly attacked her partner with sharp objects and glass, leaving him with severe injuries.

According to witnesses, the argument began over jealousy and alcohol consumption before escalating into physical violence inside a home in the Paseos del Mar subdivision.

Neighbors alerted authorities after hearing screams, banging, and the desperate crying of a child. When police arrived, they found the man with deep cuts and heavy bleeding, apparently caused by sharp objects and broken glass.

A 12-year-old girl who witnessed the attack was in shock and was removed from the scene by a relative.

The injured man was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment. The suspect fled the scene after the assault.

Unconfirmed reports suggest this was not the first violent incident in the relationship, raising concerns among local residents about the normalization of domestic violence.
