Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo — A 27-year-old woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of her mother, which occurred following an argument at their home in the municipality of Benito Juárez.
Bianca Estela Cabrera Jiménez was found guilty of qualified homicide in the death of her 55-year-old mother, Blanca Guadalupe, according to a ruling issued by an oral trial judge.
The investigation determined that the crime took place at a residence in Rancho Viejo, along the Tulum-Cobá highway. During a dispute, Cabrera Jiménez pushed her mother down a staircase, causing the victim to hit her head and lose consciousness.
To conceal the incident, she then moved the body to the backyard of the house and threw it into a cistern in an attempt to prevent its discovery.
Authorities later located the victim’s body and gathered sufficient evidence to arrest the perpetrator, who was subsequently brought to trial.
Following the judicial process, the judge imposed a 20-year prison sentence along with other applicable legal penalties for the homicide.
