Tulum, Quintana Roo — A woman was injured Monday in the Carlos Joaquin neighborhood of Tulum after an incident involving a motorcycle.

Emergency services received a report of a possible hit-and-run on Orion Sur Street near Juanek Avenue, where a woman was found lying on the road.

However, neighbors said the woman was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle with her husband and apparently fell off the vehicle. The exact circumstances remain unclear.

Witnesses at the scene said the woman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time. Paramedics treated her for multiple bruises and a possible fracture of the right ribs. She was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

Police officers arrived to document the incident and conduct the necessary investigations.
