Cancun, Quintana Roo — A violent collision between a Selva Maya bus and a private pickup truck on the Gas-Auto highway Monday morning left several people injured and prompted a large emergency response.
The crash caused alarm among motorists in the area due to the force of the impact. Paramedics and rescue crews quickly deployed to treat the wounded, some of whom suffered serious injuries, while authorities cordoned off the scene to prevent further incidents.
Traffic was disrupted for several minutes as emergency workers carried out rescue operations and removed the damaged vehicles, which showed extensive damage from the collision.
The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Officials will investigate to assign responsibility in the coming hours.
