American tourists, Kaylie Pitzer and Zara Don Hull, have reported an incident of drugging during their stay at a Cancún hotel. They were on vacation with their boyfriends and another couple when the alleged incident occurred.
They arrived in Cancún last Thursday and visited the hotel's pool bar for drinks the following day. Shortly after, both women lost consciousness and were transported to their rooms in wheelchairs.
The situation escalated when Zara began having seizures. She was quickly rushed to a local hospital in Cancún. Due to the severity of her condition, the US embassy recommended she be airlifted back to Dallas the next day.
Medical reports indicate that the women were drugged with synthetic fentanyl, a powerful opioid. As a result, their detoxification process will be lengthy.
This incident has resulted in significant financial strain for Zara's family. The cost of the medical flight and hospitalization have been substantial, leading the family to seek financial assistance to cover the expenses.
