Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A serious traffic accident left two women injured Thursday morning on the Nuevo Noh Bec bypass road in Playa del Carmen. A pickup truck allegedly traveling at high speed collided with a motorcycle carrying both victims.
Witnesses reported that the Ford pickup, with license plates from Chihuahua state, was moving quickly along the avenue connecting the Cristo Rey area with the Nuevo Noh Bec community. The speed may have contributed to the crash.
According to accounts gathered at the scene, when the pickup attempted to turn, the motorcycle driver following behind failed to react in time, resulting in the impact.
The collision was so forceful that both women were thrown from the motorcycle, landing in an empty lot beside the roadway. The incident caused alarm among neighbors and motorists who witnessed the accident.
Paramedics arrived to provide first aid to the victims, who showed signs of multiple possible fractures and various contusions. They were later transported by ambulance to a hospital for medical evaluation.
Police officers also responded to the location and detained the pickup driver while investigations proceed to determine responsibility for the crash on this busy Playa del Carmen road.
