Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Municipal police arrested two men on suspicion of drug dealing during a patrol in the El Petén residential neighborhood, authorities said.
Officers from the Playa del Carmen Public Security Department (SSCPC) spotted the pair handling and exchanging small packages consistent with drug distribution, according to a department statement. When the suspects noticed the patrol, they fled on motorcycles without visible license plates.
Police quickly caught up and conducted a search, finding several wrappers containing suspected narcotics. The motorcycles were also seized for lacking proper documentation and identification.
The suspects were identified as Juan Carlos “N.” and Williams “N.” They were turned over to the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office (FGEQROO), which will determine their legal status and continue the investigation.
