Municipal Campaign Offers Fiscal Incentives and Prizes

The Tulum City Council launched the “Impuesto Predial 2026” campaign at the beginning of January 2026, a fiscal strategy that offers significant economic incentives and prizes to encourage timely payment of this municipal tax.

The campaign includes staggered discounts during the first quarter of the year, as well as a raffle for a car and two 2026 model motorcycles among compliant taxpayers.

Authorities Highlight Fiscal Benefits for Citizens

During the protocol event, Municipal President Diego Castañón stated that Tulum positions itself among the municipalities of Quintana Roo that offer the greatest fiscal benefits to the population, emphasizing that compliance with property tax is fundamental to continue the transformation of the municipality.

The mayor stressed that the collected resources allow for strengthening public services, infrastructure, and social programs, and therefore called on citizens to take advantage of the incentives and make their payments on time and correctly.

The municipal authorities invite citizens to complete this procedure at the City Council facilities.

Staggered Discounts During First Quarter of 2026

Municipal Treasurer Vicente Aldape Moncada detailed that the campaign includes progressive discounts to facilitate taxpayers’ fiscal compliance:

• January: 30% discount
• February: 15% discount
• March: 10% discount

The official explained that the 2026 municipal budget has a citizen-focused approach, as it was designed based on tours and diagnostics conducted in neighborhoods, delegations, and communities of the municipality.

Prize Raffle for Compliant Taxpayers

As an additional incentive, the City Council announced an exclusive raffle for those who pay their property tax during the campaign, with high-value prizes:

• Payment in January: participation in the raffle for a 2026 Suzuki Dzire car
• Payment in February: participation in the raffle for a 2026 Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX motorcycle
• Payment in March: participation in the raffle for a 2026 Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 motorcycle

This dynamic seeks to motivate early payment and recognize responsible taxpayers.

Special 50% Discount for Priority Sectors

In addition to the general discounts, the City Council offers a 50% incentive for priority groups, valid until March 31, 2026. This benefit applies to:

• People with disabilities
• Retirees and pensioners
• Senior adults with INSEN or INAPAM credentials
• Tulum City Council workers
• Quintana Roo State Government workers
• Teachers, administrative and maintenance personnel of the state and federal educational system

Property Tax Payment in January with 30% Discount

The 30% discount during January is available to the general public who make their payment from January 2 to 31, making this month the period with the greatest economic benefit for taxpayers.

The January discount for property tax payment in Tulum is about to end.

Call to Citizens and Destination of Resources

The municipal authorities reiterated that property tax is a key source to finance public works, municipal services, security, urban cleaning, and community programs, and therefore invited the population to comply with this fiscal obligation.
