Chemuyil, Quintana Roo — Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo led a tour of the Chemuyil delegation to oversee a cleanup and rehabilitation project for public spaces, part of a strategy to enhance the municipality’s urban image.
During the visit, the mayor accompanied Public Services personnel in work at the community’s baseball field, where they conducted general maintenance.
Work on Public Spaces
The tasks included:
- Replacing light fixtures
- Pruning green areas
- General cleaning and rehabilitation
Officials said the goal is to provide safer and better-maintained spaces for local families.
Actions Stemming from Citizen Requests
The mayor emphasized that this work responds to requests gathered during tours of neighborhoods and delegations.
“We do all this based on what people ask for on the ground,” he said.
Call to Care for Spaces
Councilwoman Genny Maza reiterated the importance of citizen participation in maintaining public spaces in good condition, calling on the population to collaborate in their care.
