Cancun, Quintana Roo — The body of a man with visible signs of violence was discovered Sunday morning on a dirt road in the Avante neighborhood, prompting a large-scale response from security forces.
The discovery occurred at the end of Faisan Street, about 600 meters from the main entrance, after residents alerted emergency services upon spotting the body.
State police officers, in coordination with Mexican Navy personnel, arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to preserve evidence, while agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office began their investigation.
According to preliminary information, the victim had multiple injuries and apparent signs of torture. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
During the forensic examination, a family arrived at the scene hoping to identify the man, but he remains unidentified as of now.
Prosecutors continue their investigation to clarify the case.
