Kantunilkín, Quintana Roo — State prosecutors arrested six people in two simultaneous operations in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, accusing them of drug dealing and other crimes, authorities announced Thursday.
The arrests took place in the towns of Kantunilkín and San Ángel. In the first operation, on the Kantunilkín-Chiquilá highway, officers detained four individuals. In the second, on a dirt road in San Ángel, they captured two suspects traveling on a motorcycle.
Investigators believe the six are members of a criminal group involved in drug dealing, route surveillance, and violent activities in the northern part of the state.
Those arrested were identified as Manuel Aurelio “N,” Manuel Enrique “N,” Jorge Eduardo “N,” Hannia Michel “N,” José Alfredo “N” — alias “Winnie Pooh” — and José Eliezer “N,” alias “Kalu.”
Prosecutors said José Alfredo “N” and José Eliezer “N” are also being investigated for a homicide.
Officers seized dried marijuana, a black Bajaj motorcycle without plates, and a black Bajaj Dominar 400 cc motorcycle without plates.
The suspects were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
