Mérida, Yuc. — The State Government, through the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), is maintaining an active search operation at sea to locate fisherman Pedro Manuel Morales. He set out aboard a white "alijo"-type boat named "Bodoque" and has not returned since Monday.
According to a press release, contact with the vessel was lost on Monday, November 17, at approximately 4:00 p.m. off the coast of Chuburná Puerto. The situation was reported to the Port Authority that same night, and the assistance of the SSP was immediately requested to begin search and location efforts.
On Tuesday morning, a helicopter took off from the State Government's hangar with the fisherman's family members on board, conducting search sweeps in the maritime area between Chuburná and Chicxulub. Simultaneously, SSP speedboats joined the operation, which is being carried out in coordination with the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) and local authorities.
