Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The government of Quintana Roo has launched a free mammogram campaign in Cozumel targeting women aged 40 to 69, as part of the New Agreement for Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo and the breast cancer prevention strategy.

Under the framework of the New Agreement for Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, the State Government, through the Secretariat of Well-being (SEBIEN), announced a free mammogram campaign in Cozumel aimed at women between 40 and 69 years old, with the objective of strengthening prevention and timely detection of breast cancer.

With the slogan #PreventionSavesLives, this initiative seeks to facilitate access to early diagnostic studies, considered fundamental for women’s health care. The campaign is part of the network of Well-being Units, which provide quality and free medical services to the population throughout Quintana Roo.

Governor Mara Lezama has sought to bring this benefit to the women of Quintana Roo at no cost.

VENUE, DATES AND SERVICE HOURS

The health campaign will take place at a strategic point on the island to guarantee the greatest possible coverage among interested women:

  • Venue: Well-being Unit, Lot 01, Block 138, San Gervasio Neighborhood, Cozumel, Quintana Roo.
  • Dates: Thursday, January 29 and Friday, January 30, 2026.
  • Hours: 08:00 to 17:00.

REQUIREMENTS TO ACCESS FREE MAMMOGRAMS

To ensure efficient service and comply with medical protocols, beneficiaries must meet the following profile and documentation:

  • Age: 40 to 69 years.
  • Official identification: Copy of valid INE (National Electoral Institute ID).
  • CURP: Updated copy of Unique Population Registry Code.

MEDICAL RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE THE STUDY

Health authorities recommend following these instructions to guarantee the quality of the study and avoid interference in diagnosis:

  • Arrive bathed on the day of the study.
  • Do not use deodorant, body cream, talcum powder, or perfume on the chest and underarm area.

GOVERNMENT PROGRAM WITH SOCIAL FOCUS

SEBIEN reminded that this program is unrelated to any political party, and its use for electoral purposes is strictly prohibited. The department reiterated its commitment to women’s comprehensive health, breast cancer prevention, and equitable access to specialized medical services.
