Tulum, Quintana Roo — A new violent incident shook Tulum on Wednesday afternoon after hitmen shot a man in a Tulum neighborhood, triggering an intense mobilization of security corporations and emergency response teams.
The attack was recorded in the Tumben Kaa neighborhood, specifically on Caalche Street, between Nal and Oom, where neighbors alerted the 911 emergency number after hearing multiple gunshots. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities confirmed that a man had been shot by hitmen, lying on the public roadway with various injuries.
According to preliminary information, the victim suffered at least five gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, which caused alarm among residents of the area.
Paramedics Aid the Victim
Paramedics from Tulum Hospital provided first aid to the injured man at the scene. Subsequently, the shooting victim was urgently transported to a hospital to receive specialized medical attention. Authorities have not yet reported on his current health status.
Following the armed attack, elements of the Municipal Police, State Police, and the Mexican Army deployed a security operation in the area. The street and its surroundings were cordoned off at several points to preserve the crime scene and avoid contamination of evidence.
Additionally, the arrival of agents from the Investigation Police was reported to begin the corresponding inquiries and gather clues that could help clarify the attack perpetrated by the hitmen.
