Cozumel, Mexico – The poster for the “Paint and Run 5K” race, organized by Carlos Cabrera Gutiérrez of CC Producciones and the Integral Family Development System (DIF) of Cozumel, has been presented. The event will take place next Monday, February 16, starting at 4:00 p.m., with a registration cost of 350 pesos that entitles all participants to an event kit.

The organizers made the announcement as part of the 2026 Carnival celebrations. Carlos Cabrera stated that the Paint and Run 5k aims to foster integration within a friendly and participatory Cozumel community.

He explained that during the route, giant paintballs will be launched, which in turn will contain smaller ones so everyone can have paint—which is non-toxic—as well as colored food items that will be placed along the course.

“We will have soccer hair, these giant balls contain many smaller balls, and with that, we will do the closing after the color cloud and the recommendation of color beads that is in the video. We can enjoy a great party that is 5 kilometers, associated with a different color, and we will approach the finish line,” emphasized Carlos Cabrera.

This is the 12th edition of the color race, and for many years it has seen society participating; an activity they carry out hand in hand with all authorities.

“I want to take advantage of this platform to thank the government headed by our friend José Luis Chacón and the DIF president Diana Sosa; they do an incredible job to call for participation in the race,” he declared.

This event is for the whole family, activities that integrate all of society in a fun way, “a way that sometimes adults don’t have the opportunity because we get caught up in the day-to-day, in work and other things when we are there we disconnect. After 11 years, we are going for number 12.”

For her part, the honorary president of the Cozumel DIF System, Diana Sosa Blanco, said that starting today, all interested persons can go to purchase their tickets, as the funds raised will be destined to support the Special Education Care Centers.

It is worth noting that all interested parties can purchase their tickets at the offices of the Cozumel DIF System, located at Prolongación 30 Avenida between 37 and 39 Sur streets, Col. San Miguel II; at the sports department located at the Independencia Sports Unit; at Señor Frogs; Zona Cell; Cozu Case; and at the Partenón Institute of Cozumel.
