Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Fifteen swimmers from Playa del Carmen have declared themselves ready to compete in the CONADE 2026 National Olympics, representing Quintana Roo from May 4 to 10 at the Aquatic Center of Macrocentro León 1 in Guanajuato.
Eligio Alcántara Solís, sports director of the Municipal Sports Institute of Playa del Carmen, speaking on behalf of director general Alberto López Castro, wished the athletes and their coaches the best, recognizing their dedication, tenacity, and discipline in training and competition.
He emphasized that under the administration of Mayor Estefanía Mercado, the athletes and their families are a source of pride, and the government works daily to provide the best conditions for their preparation and development. He expressed hope that they enjoy the National Olympics and achieve their best times, aiming for the podium and the coveted medals.
The swimmers representing Quintana Roo are: Regina Perez, Camila Canul, Kiara De Clerck, Xavi Dominguez, Santiago Cordova, Juan Salazar, Miguel Granel, Jack Lund, Nala Sablonski, Oliver Lund, Martina Rapetti, Carlotta Martinez, Kattia Godinez, Julian Carpio, and Elena Carreto.
The coaching staff includes Mariano Mingo, Marco Gomez, Jhonn Quiñonez, Susana Fernandez, Olga García, and Jorge Fragoso. This year’s goal is to surpass the results of the 2025 edition, which brought home four gold, seven silver, and three bronze medals.
