Mayor Estefanía Mercado sits at a table with developers and business representatives during a meeting in Playa del Carmen.

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Mayor Estefanía Mercado met with developers and business leaders on Wednesday, reiterating her administration’s commitment to working with the private sector to boost economic growth and urban development in the city.

During the meeting, Mercado said one of the municipal government’s goals is to strengthen conditions for investment by making administrative processes faster and more transparent.

She emphasized that collaboration between authorities and business owners will be key to building an orderly and sustainable development model for the municipality.

“We recognize those who continue to invest and trust in Playa del Carmen every day. Their effort and commitment are fundamental to building the present and future of our municipality,” Mercado said.

The mayor said her administration will maintain an open dialogue with the productive sector to address needs related to permits, paperwork, and investment projects.

She also said the city aims to provide greater certainty to investors and developers through mechanisms that speed up responses and strengthen transparency in municipal procedures.

“When government and the business sector work as a team, prosperity reaches everyone,” she said during the meeting.

The gathering took place amid continued real estate and tourism growth in Playa del Carmen, one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Quintana Roo. Business leaders have repeatedly called for simplified regulations and greater regulatory certainty.

The city hall did not announce any specific agreements or projects discussed during the meeting.
