Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The municipal president of Playa del Carmen, Estefanía Mercado, announced an extension of the last ferry departure time to Cozumel for fans attending the Kenia OS concert.
In a social media post, Mercado said the final crossing will now depart at 10:30 PM instead of the usual 10:00 PM, coordinated with ferry operator Winjet. The move aims to give concertgoers, whom she called “Keninis,” especially those from Cozumel, enough time to reach the dock after the show and return home safely.
“We made this arrangement so that the island’s fans can enjoy the concert more peacefully, without worrying about missing the last boat,” the mayor stated.
Mercado also said she will share a video in the coming hours with recommendations for attendees traveling from other parts of Quintana Roo and other states, to ensure the event proceeds with order, joy, and safety. Additionally, she plans to announce a contest that will give one lucky fan the chance to accompany her during the concert.
The Kenia OS performance is expected to draw thousands of people to Playa del Carmen, making it one of the most highly attended music events of the year in the destination.
