Pastor Arrested in Tulum for Alleged Sexual Abuse of 16-Year-Old Girl

Tulum, Quintana Roo — A pastor of a Christian church was arrested by state investigators in Tulum on suspicion of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, authorities said Monday.

The arrest stems from an investigation opened after the victim filed a complaint. The alleged abuse occurred in the Aldea Zamá residential complex, where the teenager said she was assaulted.

The suspect was handed over to a judge, who will determine his legal status as the case proceeds.

Officials said the investigation remains active and additional steps may be taken to strengthen the case. Authorities have implemented protection protocols for the minor, who is receiving institutional support while the inquiry continues. Details of the case are being kept confidential to protect the victim and ensure due process.
