Pasión de Guitarra y Danza Comes to Cancún’s Teatro de la Ciudad

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Classical guitarist Cecilio Perera and dancer Marina Razumovskaja will present Pasión de Guitarra y Danza at the Teatro de la Ciudad on Wednesday, August 19, at 8 p.m. The performance will take place in the Foro Hirán Sánchez, the theater’s black box venue.

Perera, a native of Mérida, Yucatán, is one of Mexico’s most internationally recognized classical guitarists. He began his musical education at an early age and continued his training at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Veracruzana. He later earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, where he currently teaches.

Over his career, Perera has performed as a soloist and with orchestras across Mexico, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. His repertoire spans early music, contemporary compositions, Latin American expressions, and works written specifically for him.

For this presentation, he will be joined by Marina Razumovskaja, a dancer and castanet player. Together they will engage in a stage dialogue through Spanish and Mexican works, as well as major pieces from the classical repertoire, including compositions created for this duo format.
