Panini To Attempt Guinness World Record With Largest Sticker Swap For 2026 World Cup Album

Fans exchanging Panini World Cup stickers at a large event

Mexico City — Panini has announced plans to attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest sticker swap in four hours, aiming to help fans complete their official 2026 World Cup album.

The company expects to gather around 20,000 people simultaneously in Mexico City and Guadalajara, where collectors of all ages can trade duplicate stickers to advance in their albums.

“Completing an album has never been just about finding the missing sticker. It also means meeting people, sharing a passion for soccer, and creating memories that last long after the final match. With this Guinness World Record we want to celebrate precisely that spirit,” said Marina Benavides, general director of Panini Mexico.

The record attempt will take place on July 12 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at two venues simultaneously: the FIFA Fan Festival in Mexico City and the Parque de las Niñas y los Niños in Zapopan, Jalisco.

During those four hours, attendees will try to set the record for the largest sports sticker swap in that time frame. The event is open to everyone, regardless of how far along they are in their album.

In addition to the swap, Panini said the event will include free trading areas, zones for donating duplicate stickers, and special recognition for those who complete their official album during the day.

The company emphasized that the goal goes beyond breaking a record — it aims to honor a tradition that has accompanied soccer fans for decades. Each World Cup edition revives the excitement of opening a pack and finding the desired sticker, while duplicates become a chance to connect with other collectors.
