Mexican Peso Gains Ground Against Dollar, Stays Below 17.50

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Mexican peso posted a slight gain against the US dollar during early trading Wednesday, extending a period of stability in the foreign exchange market.

The exchange rate stood at 17.4286 pesos per dollar, a change of -0.0094 units (-0.05%) from the previous close of 17.438 pesos, according to the latest data.

Although the move was modest, the Mexican currency maintained a favorable position against the greenback, with the dollar trading below the 17.50-peso threshold during the session.

Financial institutions reported varying buy and sell prices for the US dollar on Wednesday:

  • Afirme: Buy $16.30, Sell $17.90
  • Banco Azteca: Buy $17.00, Sell $18.64
  • Banorte: Buy $16.80, Sell $18.30
  • BBVA: Buy $16.96, Sell $18.51
  • Ve por Más: Buy $16.841, Sell $18.041
  • Bank of America: Buy $16.5289, Sell $18.4502

Analysts continue to monitor international markets and economic indicators from the United States and Mexico that could influence the peso’s exchange rate in the coming sessions.
