Mexican Navy Transfers 10 Cuban Migrants From Isla Mujeres to Immigration Authorities
Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The Mexican Navy, through the Fifth Naval Region, reported that naval personnel provided support for the transfer of 10 foreign nationals to Puerto Juárez, Quintana Roo, on Sunday.
The operation was carried out after the Public Security Department of Quintana Roo (SSC) requested assistance in moving the individuals, who could not prove their legal status in the country. The migrants were accompanied by authorities at all times. A naval interceptor patrol boat was dispatched to Puerto Juárez to carry out the transfer.
Once the migrants arrived at the Naval Station in Puerto Juárez, they were handed over to the competent authorities to undergo the corresponding legal procedures during their stay in Mexican territory.
Officials emphasized that the transfer was conducted in strict compliance with human rights protocols.
