Mara Lezama Unveils Plaque for ‘TITIZÉ, A Venetian Dream’ at Cancun City Theater

Governor Mara Lezama and officials unveil a commemorative plaque for the Swiss show TITIZÉ at the Cancun City Theater

Cancun, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and Benito Juárez Mayor Ana Paty Peralta de la Peña led the unveiling of a commemorative plaque for the international production “TITIZÉ, A Venetian Dream,” marking the show’s successful debut in Latin America at the Cancun City Theater.

The ceremony, attended by Verónica Lezama, honorary president of the DIF Quintana Roo, and Sergio Carlos López Jiménez, director of the Benito Juárez Institute of Culture and Arts, highlighted the production’s achievement of drawing over 10,000 spectators.

Officials emphasized that Cancun was chosen as the starting point for the American tour of this Swiss company, Compagnia Finzi Pasca, and that it marks the first time the show has been performed in Latin America.

The production, written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, blends acrobatic theater, circus, music, and visual poetry in a surrealist narrative inspired by Venice, transporting audiences into a dreamlike universe of images, metaphors, and emotions.

Due to strong public demand, the original run — scheduled from April 23 to May 3 — was extended by a week through May 10, with additional performances on May 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10.

“TITIZÉ, A Venetian Dream” features more than 10 multidisciplinary artists, including acrobats, actors, and musicians, in an 80-minute, intermission-free show suitable for all ages.

During the ceremony, officials noted that such international productions strengthen Quintana Roo’s cultural offerings and bring theater and performing arts to a wider audience, solidifying Cancun as a venue for world-class artistic events.

The final performances of the show will take place on May 10 at 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Cancun City Theater.
