Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A judge has formally charged a man identified as Albert Joshua “N” with feminicide in connection with the death of a woman whose identity has not been released.

The charges stem from an incident on May 12, when emergency services received a call reporting a woman’s body inside a boarding house on Calle 62 between Avenidas 40 and 45 in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood.

Investigators who arrived at the scene found the victim with a stab wound to the side of her neck and a large amount of blood nearby, according to initial reports.

Following an investigation, authorities gathered evidence pointing to Albert Joshua “N” as the alleged perpetrator. During a court hearing, prosecutors presented the evidence, and the judge ruled to bind the suspect over for trial on feminicide charges.

The judge also ordered pretrial detention for the suspect, which will remain in effect for up to two years or until the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
