Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Municipal authorities have expanded security patrols on beaches and at tourist sites as part of the Summer 2026 Vacation Operation, Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde announced.
Patrols are concentrating on the island’s most frequented areas, where officers are providing guidance to residents and visitors, promoting care for public spaces, and asking people to dispose of trash in available containers. The goal is to keep the municipality clean, orderly, and safe throughout the summer holiday period.
Over the weekend, staff from the Mayor’s Office and the General Directorate of Social Development joined the patrols, coordinating with Public Services, Civil Protection, and Public Security on information and awareness efforts for tourists and locals.
