Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Isla Mujeres will host a “Catrinas and Witches Night” on Thursday, October 29, a costume party that doubles as a fundraiser for the municipal family services agency, DIF Isla Mujeres.

The event invites residents and visitors to join the Day of the Dead and Halloween season celebrations while supporting the social assistance programs the agency runs across the municipality.

It will be held at Cocos Restaurant & Beach Bar starting at 8 p.m. The entry fee is 450 pesos per person, and attendees are required to come dressed in a costume matching the Catrinas and Witches theme.

When and Where

  • Date: Thursday, October 29, 2026
  • Time: From 8 p.m.
  • Venue: Cocos Restaurant & Beach Bar, Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo
  • Entry fee: 450 pesos per person
  • Theme: Catrinas and Witches

Organizers are asking guests to follow the dress code and arrive in costume. Those planning to attend are advised to check directly with the organizers about whether reservations are required, as well as about entry availability and payment methods.

A Party With a Purpose

Beyond the celebration, the evening aims to raise money for the assistance programs DIF Isla Mujeres provides to residents and families in need. The agency carries out a range of social welfare work in the municipality, and organizers hope the event will draw community support for those efforts.

According to the event announcement, proceeds will go toward the agency’s activities. However, organizers did not specify what share of the entry fee will be directed to social programs, or which areas will receive the funds.

The event is part of a slate of activities promoted by the Isla Mujeres municipal government to encourage civic participation and community gatherings, while generating support for local social initiatives.

Catrinas, Witches and Halloween

The theme draws on two figures central to late-October festivities: the catrina, tied to Mexico’s Day of the Dead traditions, and the witch, associated with Halloween. Guests are encouraged to dress up, from traditional catrina attire to costumes inspired by horror and fantasy characters, in line with organizers’ guidelines.

The gathering offers an alternative for those who want to mark the season in a social setting while contributing to a charitable cause.
