Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Playa del Carmen brought two tourism promotion initiatives to Mexico City this week: the LATAM Luxury Summit 2026 and the third edition of the Janal Pixan festival. The presentation took place at the Casa de Representación del Gobierno de Quintana Roo and forms part of the municipality’s push to attract new visitor segments and boost local economic activity.

Tomás Romero, director of the LATAM Luxury Summit, outlined the goals of the international gathering, which will be held Nov. 5 at the Museo Soumaya in Mexico City. The event will bring together brands, luxury travel professionals, specialized buyers and industry representatives.

Mauricio Ayala, director of regional marketing for Mexico and Latin America at Hyatt Inclusive Collection, highlighted the hotel chain’s participation in the platform, which aims to strengthen commercial ties and open new opportunities for luxury-segment destinations.

Speaking on behalf of Playa del Carmen’s tourism secretary, Irving Mayett Muciño, director of marketing and tourism promotion, stressed the municipality’s competitive advantages in luxury travel, backed by its high-end hotels, gastronomy, exclusive experiences, wellness offerings and specialized tourism services.

Participation in platforms such as the LATAM Luxury Summit is part of the promotion strategy led by the municipal Tourism Department to expand its presence in high-value markets and strengthen partnerships with the private sector.
