Mexico City — One of the biggest dates on Mexico’s retail calendar is back. Hot Sale 2026 will run from May 25 through June 2, bringing nine days of online discounts across categories like tech, fashion, travel, home goods, and beauty.

Organized by the Asociación Mexicana de Venta Online (AMVO), Hot Sale has grown into Mexico’s version of Black Friday—only fully online and spread over more than a week. What started in 2014 as a relatively modest campaign has evolved into a major driver of digital commerce, with millions of shoppers participating each year.

More than 700 companies are confirmed for the 2026 edition. Major platforms like Amazon, Mercado Libre, Walmart, Liverpool, Sears, Coppel, and Samsung will anchor the event, alongside global apparel brands like Nike, Adidas, H&M, and Puma.

A Growing Force in Mexico’s Economy

Hot Sale reflects a much bigger shift. E-commerce in Mexico has expanded rapidly over the past decade, accelerated by increased smartphone use, digital payments, and improved logistics. According to AMVO data, online retail sales in Mexico now represent a significant and growing share of total retail, with millions of new consumers entering the digital marketplace each year.

For many businesses, Hot Sale is no longer just a promotion—it’s a critical revenue window. Some brands generate a substantial portion of their annual online sales during this period, using aggressive pricing, limited-time offers, and bundled deals to drive volume.

What Shoppers Can Expect

The mechanics are familiar but increasingly sophisticated. Participating retailers offer:

  • Direct discounts
  • Coupon stacking
  • Flash sales and timed deals
  • Interest-free installment plans (meses sin intereses)
  • Bank promotions tied to specific credit cards

The biggest demand is expected in categories that consistently dominate the event: electronics, home appliances, fashion, and travel. Tech products—particularly smartphones, laptops, and gaming consoles—tend to see the deepest discounts and the fastest sellouts.

Travel is another major player. Airlines, hotels, and booking platforms often release limited-time fares and package deals, making this one of the best windows of the year to book domestic and international trips.

Smart Shopping Matters

With so many offers competing for attention, experts recommend doing a bit of homework. Tracking prices before the event helps identify whether a “deal” is actually a discount or just clever marketing. Price comparison tools and consumer forums can also highlight real savings, especially on high-ticket items.

Impulse buying is another risk. The extended nine-day format encourages repeat browsing, which can lead to overspending if you’re not careful.

Looking Ahead

Hot Sale 2026 is expected to break previous records, both in sales volume and participation. As more brands invest in digital channels and more consumers shift online, the event continues to gain momentum.

For shoppers, it’s an opportunity. For retailers, it’s a test. And for Mexico’s evolving e-commerce landscape, it’s a clear sign of where things are heading.
