Tulum, Quintana Roo — Emiliano Richards and Eloy Sebastián Falcón claimed victories in the Challenge Series and NASCAR Mexico Series, respectively, during the Tulum 100 weekend at a temporary oval track set up at Tulum International Airport.
Richards dominated the Challenge Series from start to finish after securing pole position. The Mexico City driver crossed the line in 1:28:54.739, never relinquishing the lead. Giancarlo Vecchi finished second with a time of 1:28:55.713 after climbing through the field from mid-pack, while Mateo Girón completed the podium in 1:28:56.063. The top 10 also included Gerardo Rodríguez, Eliud Treviño, Andrik Dimayuga, Santos Zanella Sr., Víctor Barrales, Regina Sirvent, and Jorge de la Parra.
In the premier NASCAR Mexico category, Falcón secured his first win after a post-race penalty. Rubén Rovelo had crossed the line first but was penalized for failing to maintain his starting position, dropping him to eighth. Falcón inherited the victory with a time of 1:04:23.685. Rodrigo Rejón took second in 1:04:24.054, and Irwin Vences finished third in 1:04:24.398. Rounding out the top 10 were José Luis Ramírez, Germán Quiroga, Xavi Razo, Rubén García Jr., the penalized Rovelo, Omar Jurado, and Max Gutiérrez.
The race was marked by a multi-car accident involving five vehicles exiting a corner just past the halfway point, forcing a regroup and opening up opportunities for position changes.
The Tulum event has become a key date on the calendar, drawing large crowds and impacting the championship standings in both series as drivers accumulate crucial points heading into the next phase of the season.
