A dismembered body was discovered in a suitcase today on 20 de Noviembre Avenue, near the entrance of Residencial Valencia, in Cancún's Region 260. The gruesome discovery was reported just before noon when passersby alerted emergency services to a suspicious suitcase in a green area. A human hand was visibly protruding from the luggage.
The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time. Local law enforcement arrived on the scene, confirmed the report, and promptly secured the area.
Officials from the State Attorney General's Office were responsible for the removal of the remains. They have since been transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for further investigation.
