Cuban Man Charged With Drug Sales at Cancun Park, Also Linked to Assault
Cancun, Quintana Roo — A Cuban national identified as Guillermo “N” has been formally charged with drug dealing after his arrest in Cancun, the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) announced.
The suspect was taken into custody by municipal police in the Supermanzana 25 neighborhood following the presentation of evidence before a judge. He is accused of possessing cannabis sativa with intent to supply and is linked to drug sales in the Las Palapas park area.
Investigators also connected Guillermo “N” to an assault on a woman that occurred on April 29 aboard a public transport bus on Tulum Avenue. According to authorities, the suspect had a romantic relationship with the victim. After an argument over a missing cellphone at their home, the woman left and boarded a bus, where the suspect followed and attacked her.
Bystanders intervened and pulled him off the vehicle, but he escaped on a black motorcycle that he allegedly stole from a neighbor.
A judge ordered the suspect to remain in pretrial detention while the investigation continues.
