Child Rescued From Playground Equipment at Cancun Party Venue

Civil protection and firefighters rescuing a child trapped in a metal play structure at a children's party venue in Cancun's Colonia Revolucion

Cancun, Quintana Roo — Emergency crews rescued a child Saturday afternoon after the youngster became trapped in a metal play structure at a children’s party venue in the Colonia Revolucion neighborhood.

The incident occurred at Word Kids, a party hall where a children’s celebration was underway. Dozens of children were playing in various recreational areas when a child got his foot stuck in a metal part of one of the play structures.

Parents, other adults, and venue staff were unable to free the child, prompting a call to emergency services.

Civil protection officers and tactical firefighters arrived minutes later. They assessed the situation and used hydraulic equipment known as the “jaws of life” to carefully deform the metal structure and free the child without causing further injury.

After being evaluated at the scene, the child was found to have no serious injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Civil protection personnel spoke with the venue manager afterward, issuing preventive recommendations and safety measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Authorities cleared the scene once the situation was under control, with no further incidents reported.
