Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The seventh edition of the Feria del Queso de Bola concluded with record-breaking attendance and sales, drawing more than 10,000 visitors to the southern Quintana Roo city.

Rossana Ayala, head of the Municipal Institute of Social Economy (IMES), said exhibitors reported average sales of 75% for general products and up to 100% for prepared foods, reflecting strong public response and a positive economic impact.

More than 100 vendors participated, offering a wide range of products inspired by the traditional Edam-style cheese ball, including desserts, baked goods, marquesitas, ice cream, frappés, beverages, regional snacks, crafts, and innovative culinary creations.

Over several days, local families and tourists enjoyed cultural activities, live music, food, and recreational spaces, cementing the fair as one of the most representative gastronomic events in southern Quintana Roo.

Event organizer Delmar Briceño announced that after the success in Chetumal, plans are underway to bring the Feria del Queso de Bola to Cancún, aiming to expand the tourist and commercial reach of this culinary tradition.

The fair also boosted the economy of small businesses and local entrepreneurs, who leveraged the high visitor traffic to promote their products and strengthen sales over the weekend.
