Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A security operation at a courier company on Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta Avenue, near the Villas del Sol neighborhood, resulted in the seizure of several packages with suspected illicit contents on Thursday afternoon following an anonymous tip.
The operation commenced at approximately 6:40 p.m. when operational personnel arrived at the location accompanied by a K9 canine unit specialized in detecting narcotics, explosives, and prohibited materials. During the inspection, the canine identified several suspicious parcels within the warehouse, triggering inspection protocols.
According to preliminary information, approximately six packages that could contain illegal substances were secured. No arrests were made at the scene, and the intervention was limited to the seizure of the material for analysis.
Subsequently, agents from the Ministerial Investigative Police, attached to the State Attorney General's Office, arrived at the site to continue with the proceedings and transfer the secured items to the corresponding forensic area, where the exact nature of their contents will be determined.
The type of substance detected or the destination or origin of the shipments has not been disclosed at this time. Authorities are continuing their investigations to identify those responsible for sending or receiving the packages.
