Cancún, Quintana Roo — A 10-kilometer open-water swim from Cancún to Isla Mujeres will raise funds for breast cancer patients next month. The event, called “Nado con causa” (Swim for a Cause), aims to promote high-performance sports while supporting women undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

The initiative, organized by the Rotary Club Cancún Bicentenario, seeks to raise awareness about the disease and the needs patients face during recovery. Funds will go toward purchasing compression sleeves and other essential medical supplies for women recovering from breast cancer treatments.

“The event promotes sports, highlights the beauty of our state, and, above all, brings together efforts for a cause that directly impacts the quality of life of many women,” organizers said.

The public is invited to participate or donate, with contributions starting at 200 pesos. The swim is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, at 6:00 a.m., starting at Playa Caracol.
