Cancún, MX – The Autism Clinic in evening hours will continue operating in Benito Juárez following the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the City Council, the municipal DIF, and the Teletón Foundation, which will allow maintaining specialized care for 200 girls and boys during the coming year.
Paolo Montero, general director of CRIT Quintana Roo, explained that this agreement gives continuity to a model that has shown favorable results, both in the consistency of therapies and in the participation of the benefited families.
According to the executive, the clinic records productivity above 95 percent, a figure that reflects the regular follow-up of therapies and the commitment of those who are part of the program. He indicated that the project has been consolidating as its operation progresses and that the results have been positive.
Montero detailed that the scheme functions through a collaboration agreement, in which the municipality, through DIF Benito Juárez, provides the necessary resources to cover operating expenses, while the Teletón Foundation provides direct care to the children.
Under this model, the girls and boys who attend the clinic receive care without any cost, as they are 100 percent scholarship recipients, which allows families to access specialized therapies without affecting their economy.
The CRIT director indicated that, for now, the objective is to maintain and strengthen care for the current 200 patients, although he did not rule out that in a later stage an expansion of the program could be evaluated, once its operation is consolidated.
