Playa del Carmen, Mexico — On Friday night, emergency services and authorities mobilized on Playa del Carmen Boulevard, at the height of 28 de Julio Avenue, after reports of a lifeless person suspended from a pedestrian bridge.
According to initial reports from the scene, the person allegedly attempted to take their own life, remaining suspended from the structure. Members of the Fire Department carried out the corresponding maneuvers to rescue the body, while paramedics, as well as personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security, Municipal Police, and Transit, cordoned off the area and supported the efforts for several hours during the night.
So far, authorities have not issued official information regarding the identity of the person or the definitive causes of death, so it is expected that the Prosecutor’s Office will determine the circumstances of the incident.
Unofficially, a second version has begun to circulate suggesting that the person may have been hanged by alleged hitmen, which has also not been confirmed by any authority.
