Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo — The Benito Juárez Municipality, through the Sports Institute, has officially announced the call for entries for the Cancún Soccer Fest Mundial 2026, a 7-a-side soccer tournament with a World Cup theme aimed at promoting sports practice, community coexistence, and social integration among girls, boys, youth, and adults in the municipality.
The competition is part of municipal strategies to promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen the social fabric through sports.
When and Where Will the Cancún Soccer Fest 2026 Be Played?
The tournament will begin on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with matches played on Sunday mornings at the public synthetic turf 7-a-side soccer fields in the Benito Juárez municipality.
As part of the special format, each team will represent a national team, which will be assigned by a draw prior to the start of the tournament, creating an atmosphere similar to a World Cup.
Available Categories and Divisions
The call for entries includes different categories to encourage participation from various sectors of the population:
- Open Category Men’s and Women’s: For people aged 18 and over.
- Senior Children’s Category: Girls and boys aged 10 and 11 (born in 2014 and 2015).
Each category will have a maximum quota of 48 teams, assigned according to the order of registration. Teams may register up to 12 players, with no possibility of participating in more than one team.
Tournament Registration and Requirements
Registrations will be open until February 6, 2026, and must be completed at the Popular Sports Coordination office at the “Toro Valenzuela” Sports Unit, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Requirements for open categories:
- Digital registration form with photographs
- Copy of each player’s INE (National Electoral Institute ID)
- Individual liability waiver
- Image use authorization letter
Requirements for children’s category:
- Digital form
- Birth certificate
- Photo identification
- Liability waiver signed by guardian
- Copy of guardian’s INE
Tournament Costs, Refereeing, and Prizes
Registration is free and includes the complete uniform of the country assigned to each team. However, a guarantee deposit of 1,000 pesos is requested, refundable upon completion of the tournament if commitments are met.
Refereeing cost per match:
- $400 pesos in open categories
- $250 pesos in children’s category
Prizes:
- Open category: 20,000 pesos, trophy, and medals
- Children’s category: 10,000 pesos in sports card, trophy, and medals
Footwear and Safety Rules
To preserve the condition of the municipal fields, the use of aluminum cleats or 11-a-side soccer footwear is prohibited. Players must use turf-type footwear or smooth-soled sneakers, in accordance with tournament regulations.
The Cancún Soccer Fest Mundial 2026 aims to establish itself as a sporting and social event that strengthens family coexistence, promotes local talent, and encourages physical activity in the city, aligned with the municipality’s public policies for well-being and social development.
