Authorities Seize Property in Playa del Carmen Linked to Ex-Mayor Lili Campos Investigation
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — State prosecutors have seized a property in the Cristo Rey neighborhood as part of an ongoing investigation linking former mayor Lili Campos Miranda and the former director of contentious affairs, identified only as Jorge N.
Jorge N. faces charges of abuse of authority and illicit use of power, and is accused of participating in a land-grabbing network in the Cristo Rey neighborhood. He remains in pretrial detention.
During the initial hearing before the Criminal Control Courts and Oral Trial Tribunals of the First Instance of the Playa del Carmen Judicial District, prosecutors requested the seizure of the property located on Bosques de la Caoba street, which belongs to the defendant. Criminal Control Judge Adda Ruth García Magaña granted the request, and the Investigation, Prosecution and Processes Unit carried out the seizure.
The investigation is recorded under case file FECC/QROO/DC/34/03/2025 and administrative file 684/2025.
The property is located a few meters from where Campos inaugurated a soccer field in December 2023 as part of the first phase of the neighborhood’s sports area.
